This is a picture of the Valles Marinares on the planet Mars taken by Nasa on board the Viking spacecraft.
When I use my imagination I can see the outline of an airplane. I see the wings, fuselage and tail wing and the plane is at a slight angle as if it shifted its flight path just before hitting the surface of Mars. I can also see escape pods as if an attempt to jump out of the way of the on coming plant.
It makes me wonder what that Captian was thinking before ramming such a large spacecraft into Mars...
I can see myself on board. Not in the front where no doubt all the dignitaries would be but in the back the very back, the tial section.
I can see a crowd of people sabatoging the hydraulic system that I am in charge of and the Captian repeatedly calling for more pressure. What he didn't know was the crowd of people had hijacked the area I was in demanding me to keep system at a reduceded pressure. Ultimately getting the Captian to see for himself what the problem was.
After surveying the situation and he was satisfied I wasn't at fault he went back to the bridge. After some time the crowd begins to notice the Captian isn't calling as often and the spacecraft made a few flight changes. Then over the intercom I hear the Captians voice saying "look out the window" of which I did have a window seat after the Captian mokingly scolded me for failure to carry out his commands and sat me there.
At fist I saw nothing but space and then slowly I began to see the surface of a red plant, Mars. When the rest of the crew began to see the same thing I saw panic in their eyes. Then the pleading at first to the Captian then myself to make corrections to the flight path. When all attempts were to avail we all sat in ours seats, for once quite and subdued as we hurdle towards the surface. The we see escape pods being deployed just be impact the entire crew screaming and fighting to get access to freedom. I just sat there smiling to myself that they would finally get what they deserved for the attempt to coup the bridge because of what they felt where poor living conditions in the tail section which weren't so bad. We just didn't have the experience that being towards the bridge had.
